TaxiApp is a marketplace โ we connect riders and drivers but do not provide transport ourselves. All payments are cash between users. You must be 18+ to use the service. By using TaxiApp you accept these terms in full.
1. Acceptance of terms
By creating an account or using the TaxiApp application or website, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions and our Privacy Policy.
If you do not agree to these terms, you must not use TaxiApp. We may update these terms at any time. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
2. Marketplace status
TaxiApp is a technology platform that operates as a peer-to-peer marketplace. We do not provide transportation services. We do not employ drivers. We do not own or operate vehicles. Drivers on TaxiApp are independent private individuals offering spare seats in their personal vehicles.
The transportation service is provided entirely by the driver, not by TaxiApp. Any agreement for a ride is made directly between the rider and the driver. TaxiApp facilitates this connection but is not a party to the transport arrangement.
TaxiApp is not a taxi company, a vehicle operator, or a transport service provider under any applicable law.
3. Eligibility
To use TaxiApp you must:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Be legally able to enter into a binding contract under Indian law
- Have a valid Indian phone number for account verification
- Not have been previously suspended or banned from TaxiApp
Drivers must additionally:
- Hold a valid Indian driving licence for the vehicle category they drive
- Own or have legal right to use the vehicle they list on TaxiApp
- Ensure their vehicle is roadworthy and legally registered
- Have valid motor insurance for their vehicle
- Complete TaxiApp's identity verification process
4. Your account
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account. Do not share your login credentials or OTP codes with anyone. If you suspect unauthorised access to your account, notify us immediately.
You must provide accurate information when registering. Using a false identity or impersonating another person is a serious violation that will result in immediate account termination.
One person may hold only one account. Creating multiple accounts to evade a ban or to manipulate ratings is prohibited.
5. Rules for riders
- Book only genuine trips you intend to take.
- Be at your pickup point on time. Repeated no-shows may result in account restrictions.
- Verify the driver's name, photo, and vehicle plate before boarding. Do not board a vehicle that does not match your booking details.
- Pay the agreed fare directly to the driver in cash at the start of the ride.
- Do not send money to any driver via online transfer, UPI, or any link outside the agreed cash arrangement.
- Treat the driver's vehicle with respect. You are liable for any damage you cause.
- Do not request stops or detours not agreed at booking without the driver's consent.
- Rate your driver honestly after completing the trip.
6. Rules for drivers
- Only offer rides in vehicles for which you hold a valid licence and insurance.
- Ensure your vehicle is clean, roadworthy, and meets all legal requirements before each trip.
- Only pick up riders whose bookings you have confirmed through the TaxiApp app.
- Do not demand payment amounts higher than those shown at the time of booking.
- Do not cancel confirmed bookings repeatedly or unreasonably.
- Do not share riders' personal contact details with anyone not involved in the trip.
- Drive safely and legally. Speeding, distracted driving, or driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly prohibited and will result in permanent account termination.
- Do not use TaxiApp for commercial taxi services. The platform is for private carpooling only.
- Rate your riders honestly after each completed trip.
7. Payments
All payments on TaxiApp are made in cash, directly from rider to driver. TaxiApp does not process, hold, or facilitate any financial transactions between users.
The fare shown in the app is an estimate based on the route and distance. The final fare agreed between rider and driver governs the payment.
Never send money to a driver via UPI, bank transfer, or any payment link โ before, during, or after a trip. TaxiApp will never ask you to pay online. Any request for advance payment is a scam. Report it to us immediately.
TaxiApp takes no commission on rides and earns no revenue from individual trips. We are not responsible for any payment disputes between riders and drivers.
8. Cancellations
By riders
Riders may cancel a booking before the scheduled departure. Repeated last-minute cancellations may result in account restrictions. Since payments are cash on boarding, there is no monetary refund process.
By drivers
Drivers may cancel a posting before any rider has booked. Once a rider has confirmed a booking, cancellation should only be done for genuine reasons. Repeated cancellations after booking will result in account penalties and may lead to removal from the platform.
If a driver cancels your confirmed booking
You will be notified immediately and can search for an alternative ride. TaxiApp will make reasonable efforts to help you find a replacement but cannot guarantee availability.
9. Safety obligations
All users are expected to prioritise safety at all times:
- Share your trip details with a trusted person before travelling.
- Use the in-app emergency contact feature if you feel unsafe during a trip.
- Report any safety incidents to TaxiApp immediately via the app or at safety@taxiapp.in.
- Do not carry illegal items or substances in a shared vehicle.
- Respect other passengers' space and comfort throughout the journey.
TaxiApp reserves the right to share relevant information with law enforcement authorities in the event of a reported safety incident.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Indian law:
- TaxiApp is not liable for any injury, death, loss, or damage arising from a ride arranged through the platform.
- TaxiApp is not liable for a driver's failure to show up, cancellation, late arrival, or conduct during a trip.
- TaxiApp is not liable for any payment disputes between riders and drivers.
- TaxiApp is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the platform.
Drivers are solely responsible for their vehicles, their driving, and their conduct. The contract of carriage is between the rider and the driver, not between the rider and TaxiApp.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our own negligence, or for fraud.
11. Prohibited conduct
The following are strictly prohibited on TaxiApp and will result in immediate account termination:
- Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs
- Sexual harassment or assault of any kind
- Threatening, abusive, or discriminatory behaviour toward any user
- Carrying illegal weapons, drugs, or contraband

- Creating fake profiles, fake ratings, or fake bookings
- Using TaxiApp to operate an unlicensed commercial taxi service
- Sharing other users' personal data with third parties
- Attempting to contact riders or drivers outside the app to conduct trips off-platform
12. Suspension and termination
TaxiApp may suspend or terminate your account at any time if:
- You violate these Terms and Conditions
- Your account rating falls below acceptable thresholds
- You are reported for serious safety violations
- We receive a valid legal order requiring us to do so
- Your account shows signs of fraudulent activity
You may delete your own account at any time through the app settings. Account deletion is subject to our data retention obligations described in the Privacy Policy.
13. Disputes
If you have a dispute with another user arising from a TaxiApp trip, you should first attempt to resolve it directly. If that is not possible, you may report the issue to TaxiApp via the app. We will investigate and may assist in mediation, but we cannot enforce a financial outcome between private individuals.
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising from the use of TaxiApp that cannot be resolved informally shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Hyderabad, Telangana.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms and Conditions periodically. When we make material changes, we will notify you in the app and by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect. If you continue to use TaxiApp after the effective date, you accept the new terms. If you disagree, you must stop using the service and may delete your account.
